Hi there!

Welcome to our July Intermission for Lillie Lainoff's 2022 novel One for All.

Trigger Warning: Violence, Swordfighting, Murder, Disfiguration, Mutilation, Physical Assault, Intense Action, Chronic Illness, Passing Out

This will be a shorter post, mostly because Brieanna forgot to write it! haha!!

Okay, so first off, Brieanna and Ceraya have fallen in love with Tania in so many ways, but mostly because she's totally a real young woman whom we can relate to. And she's a character who is especially relatable to those struggling with chronic illness.

Tania starts off as a daddy's girl, in quite a wholesome way, and definitely has a complicated relationship with her mother from the beginning. We became frustrated with the mother later on, but from the start, we thought her mom was okay, just definitely wanted the best for her daughter, even throughout the tough world the daughter was likely to experience.

We were upset by the father's death, but honestly, Brieanna kind of expected it because he was just too good to be true. There needed to be SOMETHING that pushed her forward.

This first part ends with Tania finding out that Étienne is involved in the investigation into her father's death. This bothers Tania (and us) a lot because Tania has fallen for Étienne, and we want her to have something good. After moving into the school for girls, we were hoping something good would come from it, and she has support there, but learning that he father's death is tied up in this big political plot is irritating to Tania for obvious reasons!

Conclusion

Go read the Finale post for a more in-depth review of this book!

With love, see you soon!
